Complete step-by-step guide to applying for a new GEPCO electricity connection online. Learn about required documents, demand notices, and application tracking.
Applying for a new GEPCO electricity meter is now a fully digitized process managed through the centralized Electricity New Connection (ENC) portal. Residents in Gujranwala, Sialkot, Gujrat, Hafizabad, Narowal, and Mandi Bahauddin no longer need to make repeated visits to local subdivision offices. Whether you need a standard domestic phase, a commercial setup, or an industrial connection, you can process the entire application online.
Initiating your new meter request requires a reliable internet connection and clear scanned copies of your legal documents.
Navigate to the official ENC portal (enc.com.pk) and click the Apply button from the main menu.
Select GEPCO as your distribution company and choose your connection category (e.g., 15kW Domestic, Commercial, or Agriculture).
Input a direct neighbor’s 14-digit reference number so the system can verify your area and local transformer load.
Fill out the applicant’s details, precise property address, and contact information, then upload the required documents to generate your unique Application Tracking ID.
Before starting your online application, ensure you have scanned copies (kept under 300KB each to prevent upload errors) of the following mandatory documents:
Applicant’s valid CNIC (Front and Back).
Proof of property ownership (Registry, Fard, or official allotment letter).
An attestation by the Oath Commissioner (Stamp Paper Affidavit) declaring no previous defaulting WAPDA connection exists at the premises.
If renting, a valid rent agreement accompanied by a No Objection Certificate (NOC) and CNIC copy from the property owner.
A recent copy of your neighbor’s paid electricity bill.
After physical verification of your site by a GEPCO surveyor, a Demand Notice will be issued to your ENC account. This installation fee must be printed and paid at a designated commercial bank.
| Connection Category | Load Capacity | Estimated Processing Time | Approval Authority |
| Category 1 | Up to 15 kW | 30 Days | SDO (Sub-Divisional Officer) |
| Category 2 | 16 kW to 70 kW | 45 Days | XEN (Executive Engineer) |
| Category 3 | 71 kW to 500 kW | 73 Days | SE (Superintending Engineer) |
You do not need to visit the WAPDA office to check if your meter has been approved. Visit the ENC portal and click on Track. Enter your Application Tracking ID or your CNIC number. The dashboard will display your exact status—whether it is pending site inspection, waiting for Demand Notice payment, or scheduled for meter installation. Once your Demand Notice is generated, print it directly from the Print DN tab, pay it at the specified bank, and upload the paid receipt back to the ENC portal to trigger the final installation phase.
Common ENC Questions If your application is rejected, the ENC portal will highlight the specific missing document or load issue. Simply address the highlighted error and resubmit the application. If you lose your tracking ID, you can easily recover it by searching your CNIC in the tracking menu.
No, GEPCO does not currently provide a facility to check electricity bills using a CNIC, name, or phone number for privacy and security reasons. The only authorized method to retrieve your duplicate web bill is by using your specific 14-digit reference number or 10-digit customer ID.
You can pay your downloaded duplicate bill instantly through various digital channels without standing in bank queues:
Mobile Wallets: JazzCash, EasyPaisa, NayaPay, and SadaPay.
Banking Applications: All major Pakistani banks (HBL, Meezan Bank, Allied Bank, MCB, etc.) support utility payments.
Payment Process: Log into your app, navigate to ‘Utility Bills’ > ‘Electricity’ > ‘GEPCO’, enter your 14-digit reference number, verify the billing amount on the screen, and authorize the transaction with your PIN.
The online web bill portal only generates the duplicate bill for the current billing cycle. However, when you download your current bill, look at the bottom section—it contains a 12-month billing history chart displaying your consumed units, total bill amounts, and payment statuses for the past year. For a full printable copy of an older bill, you must visit your local subdivision office.
